History
Tuna farming in Croatia started in 1996, after two Australian Croatians brought the experience and know-how of tuna business to Kali – a small village on Ugljan island, well known for being the most famous fishing location on the Adriatic and home of the most famous fishermen – and established the first tuna farm in the Mediterranean. By intense feeding of wild tuna, the farmers tried to reach the quality of fish that complies with the high standards of sashimi market. Farmed tuna almost fully complies with these standards, while wild tuna has only 30% of the meat quality required by the market.
As the demand for tuna grew bigger, we were able to fully realize our potential on the global market and our business has been recognized as a high market value business ever since our establishment.

Tuna farming technology is based on catching the wild tuna. With careful selection of food and controlled feeding regime, we can make a positive impact on quality, or more precisely, on the color and fat levels of the fish.
