In 1996, KALI TUNA d.o.o. was established in Kali, Ugljan island, by two Croatian descendants from Australia, and is considered a pioneer of farmed Atlantic bluefin tuna business in the Mediterranean. Since their beginning, the production of Kali tuna has been increasing continuously and it is still considered as one of the most successful companies in the current market. In addition to company's productivity and profitability, we have greatly contributed to the Croatian society, economy and export. Kali tuna is, undoubtedly, a key contributor to employment on the islands of Ugljan and Pasman, and the city of Zadar as well. Our products have been in high demand in the Japanese market where strict quality is required. It is with great pride that we are now introducing our products to the world, and starting a global distribution.

Although some might think that Kali tuna has reached the peak of business expansion, there is no time to rest on laurels. We always strive to be the best in our business. Thus, we will continue to satisfy customer's demands, meet the strictest criteria, sustain our productivity and open to new markets.

Tuna farming in Croatia started in 1996, after two Australian Croatians brought the experience and know-how of tuna business to Kali – a small village on Ugljan island, well known for being the most famous fishing location on the Adriatic and home of the most famous fishermen – and established the first tuna farm in the Mediterranean.
